Perched on the sun-drenched slopes of Corfu’s west coast, three private villas exemplify the integration of contemporary architecture with the Mediterranean landscape. This project, showcasing a stepped design, harmonizes beautifully with its natural setting.

Each villa features cantilevered volumes that extend above the sloping terrain. Consequently, this design creates a striking visual impact while optimizing panoramic views. Additionally, by minimizing disruption to the landscape, the design enhances spatial dynamics and connectivity with the horizon. Furthermore, the stepped arrangement ensures that each unit maintains privacy while offering unobstructed views. This vertical separation effectively creates individual retreats, shielding them from one another and enhancing seclusion.

The design incorporates light-washed surfaces and local stone, selected to interact atmospherically with the Mediterranean sunlight. As a result, there is a dynamic play of light and shadow that evolves throughout the day. Moreover, the use of stone anchors the villas within their environment, thereby improving thermal performance and durability.

The external landscape features dry-stone walls, which create inviting pathways to each villa. These meandering paths not only enhance the approach to each villa but also integrate the built elements with the surrounding landscape, offering a cohesive and immersive experience.
